SWEP Program

SWEP provides a subsidy towards the cost of equipment and/or modifications to eligible participants. This is to improve independence in your home, assist in community participation and support families and carers in their role.

You must be a permanent Victorian resident, living independently and have a long-term disability and/or frail-age. For more information please refer to the A&EP Guidelines.

Applications are made through a SWEP-registered practitioner, such as an occupational therapist, who will assess your needs and submit the application to SWEP on your behalf. For more information, visit the SWEP website or speak with your health professional.

SWEP provides a subsidy towards the cost of your equipment rather than always covering the full price. If the item you choose costs more than the subsidy amount, you can choose to pay the difference yourself. Your prescriber or SWEP can confirm the subsidy that applies to your item.

All orders for mobility aids and equipment will be submitted to SWEP for assessment and approval.

Once the order has been approved and HospEquip receive the approval paperwork from SWEP, we will contact you to arrange delivery.

All warranty repairs on HospEquip products are carried out by HospEquip, and ongoing servicing and preventative maintenance is available through our service partner. See our Service page for details on how to arrange a repair or service.
